About the role
If you are a client facing Business Services Accountant looking for a change, this role is an opportunity to apply and develop your skills and experience in a new and challenging way.
This is a national support role to help develop, implement and monitor protocols and procedures in order to meet quality, ethical and risk requirements.
You will report to and be supported by our small national team, including our Head of Q&E, Quality & Systems Manager and Business Improvement Manager.
The role is part-time 0.6 FTE, with opportunity to work from home on some days.
Key responsibilities include:
Work within and provide support to the Q&E team to deliver quality and risk requirements within our Private Advisory service line
Review compliance, ethical and regulatory requirements set by CAANZ and other governing authorities, advise on implications on processes, help implement change to processes
Write and maintain policies, manuals, communications and templates, and ensure all documentation and knowledge systems are maintained and updated regularly.
Coordinate, organise and follow up meetings and structured workshops including agendas, meeting notes and other communications
Develop training on quality matters, including working closely with our Training and Knowledge Sharing team
Assist and support the PA team on quality matters including addressing day to day queries, and identifying issues that need to be addressed
Work with and support our Q&E Reviewer in co-ordinating and completing internal quality control file reviews
Work closely with all PA team members, our Risk and IT teams and other support services.
Skills and experience
Tertiary Qualification in Accounting / Commerce or similar
A minimum of 3 years’ experience within an accounting firm, ideally within the Private Tax or Business Services area or similar.
Excellent report writing skills
Understanding of the key compliance, ethical and regulatory requirements that apply to the accounting industry
Understanding of systems used in an accounting business
Ability to work independently
Excellent communication skills for interaction with diverse and senior stakeholders
