Hedweld has been producing world leading products for the mining sector globally for over 40 years, known for our Trilift range of component handling equipment and our Safe-Away range of access systems.
Hedweld are seeking a full time Technical Writer for a permanent opportunity, based at our Mount Thorley site.
This position is responsible for the writing, editing, and production of technical and functional documentation/content for the Hedweld range of products
Including but not limited to:
Develops, writes and maintains technical manuals, instruction books, training materials and related technical and administrative publications to be utilised by both internally and by end users of Hedweld Equipment
Develop and update technical documentation/content adhering to format, content and style guidelines.
Interface with the Product Development Team throughout all stages of product development to ensure technical documentation accuracy and quality
Reports on project progress and gives accurate lead times for produced materials
Reviews published technical materials and recommends revisions or changes in scope, format and content.
Maintains records and files for work and revisions.
Reviews manufacturers and trade publications, drawings and other data relevant to operation, maintenance, and service of equipment including externally designed product used in Hedweld equipment
Ensures coherency of content between Hedweld and externally designed product
Designing, detailing and capturing mechanical procedures for utilisation along with the development of associated flow charts, training materials and SOPs to support maintenance and operation requirements
Upholds the organisations commitment to Occupational Health and Safety and adheres to company policies regarding work practices and procedures.
Assists in achieving ongoing improvements to organisational safety, communication and morale.
Successful Applicant must have:
Excellent organisational skills
Excellent creative and technical writing, editing and coordination skills
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as a team member
Microsoft suite - intermediate
Advanced skills with various Graphic software (Adobe Photoshop, Acrobat.
A well-developed mechanical aptitude and the ability to produce materials and documentation that is culturally aligned to the mechanical and mining industry
Experience in producing and cataloguing procedures and technical support documentation ideally within a heavy mechanical environment
Well-developed IT and associated software experience would be a given
