Supernumerary is a boutique accounting business providing outsourced accounting services to small & medium sized businesses across a range of industries. Our office is located in the heart of Glenferrie Road, Hawthorn, a 2-minute walk from Glenferrie Station.

Due to continued growth within the firm, we currently have a vacancy for a bookkeeper with at least 3 years proven experience. The role is part-time 3 days per week, Monday to Wednesday with flexibility for start and finish times. However, there is potential for growth as the business expands.

Joining a friendly team you will be working on a diverse mix of clients from various industries with all their bookkeeping needs. You will own and get to intimately know your own clients. This role will predominately be based in our office but may require on-site visits and meetings.

The Successful Applicant
A successful applicant will be an experienced bookkeeper, hold relevant qualifications and be able to make an immediate impact. End to end operations in accounts, payroll and month end assistance is a minimum requirement as is advanced experience predominantly in Xero and MYOB.

Intermediate and above excel skills will be needed as will great communication skills, attention to detail and a positive attitude. The ability to maintain a customer-centric approach will be high advantageous as well as the ability to start immediately.

About the role

  • End to end accounting
  • End to End Payroll
  • Complete Balance Sheet reconciliations 
  • Accounts Payable and Receivable including debt collection
  • Statutory and compliance: BAS, PAYG, Payroll tax, Super and Workcover
  • Basic understanding of Workplace awards
  • Preparing end of month accounts
  • Ad-hoc analysis as required 
  • Client relationship development

Skills and experience

  • Certificate IV in Accounting & Bookkeeping
  • BAS Agent Qualifications
  • Have a minimum of 3 years bookkeeping experience
  • Single Touch Payroll and SuperStream experience
  • Advanced knowledge of Accounting software; In particular Xero & MYOB
  • Be proficient in all aspects of Payroll including EOFY reconciliations
  • Microsoft Office suite proficiency, especially Excel
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal along with active listening
  • Be able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Friendly and outgoing personality to fit into a team environment
  • Valid Victorian driver's license
