Roster & Administration Assistant - Home Care - Part Time

Do you have rostering experience gained in health or an aged care environment, Staff rostering and general admin, Do you enjoy working in a fast paced role and using your problem solving skills.

Samarinda Ashburton Aged Services (SAAS) is a long established provider of integrated residential and community care support services. Our vision is that every local individual and family deserves to remain connected, engaged and valued in the community they know and love.

We are seeking a rostering and administration officer that has experience gained in the health or aged care industry.

The hours are part time - 15 hours per week.

You will have superior problem solving skills, work collaboratively with colleagues, service users, their families, visitors and the public. You are comfortable managing multiple tasks and have the ability to re-prioritise tasks throughout the day to support the Home Care Program. In addition you will be be a quick adopter of technology to enable the provision of seamless roster coordination.

Above all, you must be comfortable working in a fast paced environment, have excellent attention to detail and have a 'can-do' attitude.

The role is responsible for:

  • Ensure all shifts are filled in a timely manner and with minimal disruption to clients and staff
  • Coordinating and allocating the replacement of planned and unplanned leave for the Home Care Program
  • Rolling out the rosters
  • Processing of time sheets and transport (kms) reports
  • Updating and filing of client, staff and other documents
  • Provide a range of general administrative services to meet the needs of the business

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • At least 3 years experience providing administration/rostering assistance in a community services/Home care package setting.  
  • Experience managing a staff rostering system
  • Demonstrated self-motivation, initiative, resilience and problem solving skills
  • Demonstrated flexibility to adapt your approach and work to changes in the environment
  • Well-developed customer service excellence skills to build rapport and sustain effective relationships with a focus on service user satisfaction.
  • Demonstrated empathy, warmth, interest and appreciation of the aged
  • High level of team working skills to cooperate with team members and work collaboratively
  • Excellent verbal communication to assesses and provide appropriately tailored information and explanations to a diverse range of groups
  • Proficient in MS Office, Outlook, Word and Excel.
