Performance & HSE Advisor South

A 4 month fixed term opportunity exists for a HSE professional to join in our Asset Maintenance team.  This role will be based at Hinze Dam at the Gold Coast and provide HSEQ advisory services across Seqwater’s Southern Maintenance Team, from Scenic Rim to Redland Bay including Gold Coast.

Your new position

  • Fixed Term to 26/06/2020

Working as part of our Asset Maintenance team, you will be the primary HSE Advisor for all maintenance activities across Seqwater’s southern region.  You will engage and work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders to champion HSE and provide a first point of contact for all HSE matters.

Duties Include:

  • Promote the Health and Well-being of personnel and ensure that all employees are familiar with the HSE system and relevant procedures for their role.
  • Facilitate the timely response to HSE issues and incidents, including the recording, reporting and analysis of HSE leading and lagging performance metrics.
  • Perform workplace inspections and job safety/environmental and water quality practice observations including performance evaluations.
  • Undertake investigations and implement logical practical solutions to reduce or eliminate the identified hazards.
  • Inspect and audit our internal processes so as to provide assurance of HSE compliance and performance improvement.
  • Prevent or stop work that could cause an environmental impact.
  • Perform collection and maintenance of compliance information and analyse and prepare reports on non-conformance, incidents, hazards, audits and job inspections, ensuring completeness and accuracy of information and identification of trends and strategies to address poor performance.

This role is based at Hinze Dam at the Gold Coast and you will be provided a maintained company vehicle to support the southern region.  Frequent travel to sites will be required.

About you

To be successful in the role you will be an experienced HSE professional with a certificate IV, Diploma or Tertiary Qualifications in WHS, Quality and/or Environmental disciplines.  You will have a firm understanding the relevant legislative and regulatory requirements impacting an Asset Maintenance  environment.   Importantly, you will be able to demonstrate the ability to develop and work collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders and work independently to implement Seawater’s Strategic WHS Plan

Additional Requirements:

  • Demonstrated experience conducting Internal Auditor training, and/or Incident Investigation.
  • Demonstrable experience developing work schedules and working with other staff to meet those schedules.
  • Experience in data and information management and performance reporting.
  • Water or utility industry knowledge would be desirable

This position has been graded in accordance with Seqwater's EBA as a AO6 with a salary of $97,231.33 plus up to 12.75% superannuation
