NSWALC has an exciting opportunity available for an Executive Assistant and is seeking interested and motivated candidates who would like to contribute to NSWALC by supporting our newly elected Council through the position of Executive Assistant to the Chair. 

The Executive Assistant is responsible for:

The Executive Assistant is responsible for the effective management of the Office of the Chairperson and the provision of high-level operational advice and executive support including the reporting on complex matters and the coordination of reports, briefings, correspondence and submissions on complex and sensitive issues.

 The Executive Assistant will liaise with key senior stakeholders both internal and external to the NSWALC and will also coordinate and provide support to a range of internal and external Committees.  The role may require travel throughout New South Wales on occasion.

Success Profile

  • Knowledge and understanding of the cultural practices, values and issues that affect Aboriginal people and communities in today's society.
  • Proven conceptual and analytical skills and an ability to provide considered, independent, balanced and practical Executive advice.
  • Excellent high level oral and written communication and people management skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience of working in a strong regulatory environment and interacting with government and statutory bodies.
  • Capacity and experience in providing high level Executive services under the guidance of strong Corporate Governance, Corruption Prevention and Risk Management practices.
  • Ability to coordinate the preparation of briefings, submissions, reports and correspondence on complex and sensitive matters.
  • Proven ability to liaise effectively at a senior level both with internal and external stakeholders and committees.
  • High level project management skills and capacity to coordinate support of high-level Committees.
  • Understanding of and commitment to the implementation of Workplace, Health & Safety, Equal Employment Opportunity and ethical policies and practices in the workplace.
