Payroll Manager

The Payroll function is critical to CEDWW. The Payroll Manager (currently responsible for a team of four Officers) ensures that the payroll process runs smoothly and is completed with a high level of accuracy. 

The Payroll Manager is responsible for the payroll functions efficient interaction with the Finance and HR Services functions. The Payroll Manager provides specialist advice and support to CEDWWs leadership group.

Currently within the HR Services Function, CEDWW Payroll is a shared service that provides payroll services to all Diocesan Schools and Offices (approx 1800 employees and casual staff).

The Payroll Manager plays an integral role in the success of our workforce and the achievement of our vision, mission and organisational objectives.

(a) Essential Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree or Advanced Diploma in Finance, Business or Economics.
  • Minimum 5 years experience running end to end payroll in a high volume environment.
  • Understanding of payroll compliance.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Modern Awards and other state and industry legislation.
  • Knowledge of general payroll practices, procedures, operations and legislation.
  • Team Management experience.
  • Advanced communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Advanced computer software skills, Word and Excel and other accounting / payroll packages.
  • Current Drivers Licence.

(b) Desirable

  • Experience in the NSW Education sector.
  • Experience working in a large multidisciplinary organisation.

This role is based in the CEDWW Office in Wagga Wagga NSW

This role will require the successful applicant to hold a current Working With Children Check and consent to a National Police Criminal History Check.
