About the Job
The Advancement Officer: Events, in consultation with the Director: Advancement Services, is responsible for managing the staging of alumni, fundraising and corporate events and activities, including national and international events which contribute to the stewardship and fundraising programs undertaken by the Unit. You will be responsible for designing and producing promotional material and providing advice and assistance to academic and professional staff across the University on the staging of development events, public promotional activities and associated protocol matters.
Skills and Experience
To be successful, you will have tertiary qualifications in events, business, marketing or a related discipline or equivalent skills and knowledge along with proven ability and experience in designing, developing and implementing of multiple high profile alumni, fundraising and/or public promotional activities. You will also have demonstrated experience in providing advice on protocol issues relating to significant national and international events. Your high level interpersonal and communication skills including strong public speaking and negotiation skills and the ability to relate to a broad cross section of people internal and external to the University are essential in this role.
