The Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS) is a not for profit, membership-based organisation leading the way in surgical performance, professionalism and patient care in Australia and New Zealand.
With service to our members at the forefront of our business, we support ongoing learning and development for our surgical workforce of more than 7,000 surgeons and 1,300 surgical trainees and Specialist International Medical Graduates.

The Role (Full Time, approx. 8 month contract)
Reporting to the Team Leader - SIMG Assessment, the Coordinator will perform a vital role in the assessment of specialist international medical graduates wishing to pursue a surgical career in Australia and New Zealand.
The successful candidate will provide support and guidance to applicants, undertake extensive review of complex applications to ensure all relevant documentation has been provided, assist with the coordination of interviews and maintain accurate and up to date records in relation to applications.
This role will be offered on a full time, fixed term contract until 24/12/2021.
As the ideal candidate you will have:
- Prior experience in administration in either a medical or educational environment
- An understanding of the particular attributes of membership based organisations and the medical education sector
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills in order to liaise with individuals from diverse backgrounds
- High-level organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks, meet competing deadlines and perform tasks in a timely and efficient manner
- High attention to detail with the ability to think laterally
- High level proficiency in using Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Applications, a working knowledge of databases, and the ability to learn and use new systems quickly and skillfully
