The School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering is seeking an enthusiastic academic to teach into the School’s mechanical engineering discipline at the undergraduate and graduate diploma level and contribute to a research project involving the manufacture and testing of novel small sensors for use in a corrosive environment. You will teach in the area of materials and manufacturing engineering, and also in multi-disciplinary courses. You will also manufacture small-scale engineering devices, perform experiments using hazardous materials, analyse data, and advance understanding through theoretical developments.
In addition to your relevant tertiary qualifications in mechanical engineering or materials engineering, your broad teaching experience and hands-on laboratory teaching skills covering areas of materials properties, materials selection, strength of mechanical systems, and manufacturing processes will be key to your success in this role. Distance and on-line education experience will also be considered highly valuable.

The School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering was established to offer programs from paraprofessional to postgraduate levels in the areas of mechanical engineering, mechatronic engineering, electrical and electronic engineering, instrumentation control and automation engineering, computer systems engineering and electrical power engineering. The School is one of six schools within the Faculty of Health Engineering and Sciences. The thirty plus academic staff of the School enjoy the benefit of a strong multi-disciplinary culture at the school and faculty level. Salary: Total remuneration range $81,392 to $109,191 pa (includes salary range of $68,774 to $92,264 pa, employer superannuation contributions of 17% of salary and annual leave loading)
