About the business

NAFDA Foodservice is a leading procurement and marketing company with a history extending over five decades. Located at their Head Office in Parramatta, an opportunity exists for this sort after role as Procurement Category Manager.

We are currently looking for an energetic and driven individual, whom will answer directly to the GM of Procurement and will be responsible for the management of key categories as well as leading procurement projects and business initiatives.

Above all we are looking for a person who is naturally motivated and has a positive attitude at all times including under pressure.


About the role

Key responsibilities:

  • Leadership for defined direct food categories 
  • Leadership for indirect categories
  • Drive new procurement initiatives and positive outcomes
  • Project manage NPD products and range extensions
  • Manage key partner supplier relationships
  • Influencing member stakeholders to engage procurement programs 
  • Negotiating supplier pricing, rebates, marketing support and promotions
  • Generate new sources of supplier revenue by optimising category management

Skills and experience

About You:

  • 5 years local / international procurement experience preferred
  • Food, Foodservice or FMCG procurement experience
  • Indirect spend category experience across multiple categories
  • Proven experience in the development of effective category strategies
  • Experience working in a co-operative business preferred
  • Process-driven with excellent analysis, problem solving and attention to detail
  • Self-motivated individual with experience working in tight deadlines and strict time management

  • Ability to negotiate with suppliers for mutual win-win outcomes
  • Hard working with a great work ethic essential
  • Willing to work as part of a team, be an excellent team player and add value to both internal and external key stakeholders
  • Strong influencing skills across key stakeholders to create Buy in and cross functional teams
  • Ability to approach problems and find solutions in new innovative ways
  • Ability to identify new business opportunities and to convert them into new supply partners and income streams
