About the Role

We require an experienced, dynamic and super organised Accountant or Senior Bookkeeper with experience in public practice to join our small expanding team on a full time or part time basis.

Key Responsibilities

Key responsibilities of the role can include the below but are not limited to:

  • Processing transactions on cloud-based software. Including Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks online & Receiptbank
  • Debtor and creditor management
  • Payroll including STP and Superannuation reporting
  • Maintenance of job costing records
  • Budgeting & cash flow projection
  • BAS return preparation
  • ASIC compliance

This role has the ability to build into a team leadership role as the practice is in growth phase.

Applicants must demonstrate the following:

Personal Skills

  • Be able to work unsupervised & work to deadlines
  • Strong written communication skills with the ability to liaise with clients and team members
  • Excellent numeracy and literacy skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proven ability to solve problems
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills essential.

Technical Skills

  • Minimum 2+ years experience within a similar role
  • Experience within Public Practice is essential
  • Sound knowledge of ATO compliance including GST, STP, payroll and payroll tax
  • Have completed Cert IV in Bookkeeping or Accounting or above
  • Proficiency in maintaining financial and payroll records using cloud-based software packages
  • Strong understanding of Taxation requirement of small business, Chart of Accounts and accounting principles
  • Preparation of reports for BAS to be lodged
  • Experience with Group company accounting preparation & reconciliation of Intercompany loans & transactions
  • Proficiency with MS Office 365 (SharePoint, Outlook, Word & Excel)

The ideal candidate will:

  • Commence immediately - would be preferable but not essential
  • Have a drivers licence and car as some travel between offices & clients may be required.
