Civil Labourer / Trades Assistant

  • Experienced and skilled Civil Labourer / Trades Assistant required.
  • Established Civil Construction Company based in Maryborough, QLD. 
  • We have a strong current and forward workload.
  • Diverse range of works and clients urban, rural, semi-remote.
  • Annualised wages circa $64-75k per annum.  Packages tailored to applicant. 
  • Majority of work is local. 

Job Summary: 

The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate knowledge and experience in the civil construction industry and be able to work within a team and undertake a range of related tasks for the construction and maintenance of Public Infrastructure. 

Including but not limited to; road works, path construction and repairs, drainage, pipe work and associated structures.

To complete the 3-month probation period, the successful applicant will establish themselves as an effective and valuable team member and demonstrate competence in all of the aspects listed below.  They will need to adopt and actively participate in JACCs positive culture of Safety, Environmental responsibility and Quality work.     

Essential Duties:

  • To follow supervisor instructions 
  • Assisting Trades personnel as required 
  • Spotting operations 
  • Manual excavations, back filling, pipes & drainage system installation
  • Set-out and line marking 
  • Basic concreting, steel fixing and formwork 
  • Maintain a clean work site and safe use of all tools and equipment
  • Adhere to and promote JACCs high safety and environmental standards
  • Promote teamwork, impart skills, share knowledge and participate in on-site training.

To be considered for this position you will need:

  • a current QLD drivers licence (HR licence as minimum, HC is preferable); and
  • a current construction white card; and 
  • a minimum 3 years experience in civil construction (not mining);
  • to be physically fit (as physical work and manual handling will be involved); and excellent communication skills;
  • to be reliable, punctual and keen to work in varying environments;
  • to understand safety requirements and applicable safety policies; 
  • to present on time for work each day and be prepared to works weekends and outside of normal hours as and when required; and
  • to work well in both team or unsupervised environments.
    • Please note all JACC offices, plant and most sites are non-smoking areas.
