  • Experienced Semi Trailer Operators with minimum 2 years experience required for Civil Construction/Road Maintenance.
  • Established Civil Company based in Maryborough, QLD.
  • We have a strong current and forward workload.
  • Diverse range of works and clients urban, rural, semi-remote.
  • Annualised wages circa $65-70k per annum.  Packages tailored to applicant.
  • Majority of work is local.

Semi-Trailer Operator (HR/MC)

Job Summary:

The successful applicant will have a proven track record in the safe operation of conventional side tipper, water tanker, float, and/or, truck and dog combinations. Working as a team member and undertaking a range of related tasks relating to road works, quarry haulage, bulk earthworks and site works for a variety of Clients around the Wide Bay area.

While not initially essential for an applicant to be successful, the following attributes will be highly regarded:-

Personal

  • Ability to work autonomously as required.
  • Commitment and capability to meet production goals and targets.

Technical

  • Ability to maintain plant, trouble-shoot and problem solve - as required.
  • Proficiency and readiness to operate a variety of other machinery (as necessary) including:- grader, dozer, loader, roller, water truck, etc.
  • QR RIW training / attainment.

To complete the 3 month probation period, the successful applicant will establish themselves as an effective and valuable team member and demonstrate competence in all of the aspects listed above.  They will need to adopt and extend on JACCs culture of Safety, Environmental responsibility and Quality work.    

Essential Duties:

  • Operate and maintain JACC plant and vehicles in a professional and safe manner.
  • Follow instructions and work autonomously when required.
  • Daily checks on machinery and rectification / reporting of issues.
  • Perform physical labour and manual site duties when required.
  • Keep a clean work site and safely use tools and equipment.
  • Adhere to and promote JACCs high Safety and Environmental standards
  • Promote teamwork, impart skills, share knowledge and participate in training.
  • Be a self-motivated proactive employee

To be considered for this position you will need:

  • a current QLD drivers licence (HC licence as minimum, MC is preferable); and
  • a current construction white card; and 
  • other plant / operating competencies; and
  • a minimum 2 years experience in similar role;
  • to be physically fit (as physical work and manual handling/labouring will be involved during machine downtime); and excellent communication skills;
  • to be reliable, punctual and keen to work in varying environments;
  • to understand safety requirements and applicable safety policies;
  • to present on time for work each day and be prepared to works weekends and outside of normal hours as and when required; and
  • to work well in both team or unsupervised environments.
  • ability for an immediate start would also be highly considered

Terms:

Competitive remuneration and negotiable terms. Annualised wages circa $65-70k per annum, Wage range may be negotiable for exceptional applicants. Packages tailored to applicant. The position would initially be based on casual tenure with a view to a permanent position pending performance.
