Demand Response Operations Lead

Operating technologies for Australian businesses to flex their energy demand, Key growth initiative for Shell's B2B Retail Business, Part of a new dedicated DR team.


The DR Operations Lead will be joining Shell Energy’s dedicated demand response business unit and is responsible for managing Shell’s DR day-to-day operations and leading the development of enhanced business tools to aid productivity and scaling DR offerings.

  
  
Responsibilities:
  

  • DR Operations: maintain existing tools, databases and system interactions, including suitable documentation on existing operations;
  • Lead the onboarding, testing of customers including processing events and the analysis of issues;
  • Identify and process improvement opportunities, including the development of tools that will improve effectiveness of DR delivery;
  • Support the mapping of future tools, databases and system interactions; which includes identifying the long term solutions for DR data management;
  • Optimising the performance of distributed energy resources in Shell Energy’s distributed energy resource management system
  • Ensure the movement of customers through the DR lifecycle is efficient; and
  • Ensuring that all improvements are developed within the system priorities.

  
  
We’d love to hear from you if:
  

  • Have a proven capability to map, plan and deliver end-to-end productivity tools for delivering operations at scale;
  • A high level of expertise in Microsoft Excel tool development;
  • Experience in working in SQL, VBA and experience working with RESTful APIs;
  • Knowledge of and ability to interpret, Python, R and Tableau;
  • Possess a proven background or tertiary qualifications in engineering, mathematics or data science beneficial;
  • Excellent communications skills for conducting stakeholder consultations;
  • An understanding of energy use and energy markets in Australia beneficial but not required;
  • Excellent time management and organisation skills;
  • Have proven demonstration in clear, professional and articulate communication;
  • Good problem-solving skills;
  • High levels of initiative; 
  • Effective team player;
  • Are willing to be based in either our Melbourne or Sydney CBD offices.
