Job Summary:

Under general supervision, provides multi-task support services to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canadas (IRCCs) programs and operations. Exercises initiative in seeking out information to complete files or tasks. Requires a general knowledge of established guidelines. Responds to service requests from clientele and performs other duties as required.

Essential Qualifications:

Candidates will initially be screened against the Essential Qualifications relating to education, experience and language. Candidates must clearly demonstrate in their cover letter and rsum how they meet each of these essential qualifications. 

 Education:

  • Successful completion of high school; and
  • Either one year of successfully completed post-secondary studies, or
  • One year full-time employment with the same employer

Language: 

  • Excellent written and oral English communication skills; including writing business correspondence

Experience:

  • Experience using a PC in a network environment, using word processing software and internet

Rated Requirements: 

The Rated Requirements relating to knowledge, abilities and competencies will also be assessed. Methods of assessment may include, but are not limited to, a written examination, an oral interview, role-play, practical tests, presentations and/or psychometric assessment.

Knowledge: 

  • Computer applications; including  Microsoft Office applications and internet browsers

Competencies and Abilities:

  • Ability to take initiative, organize and prioritize workload to meet deadlines under pressure
  • Ability to demonstrate sound judgment
  • Ability to establish effective interpersonal relationships within a team and conduct all interactions with integrity and respect.

Asset Qualification:

Preference may be given to candidates who meet the Asset Qualifications. Where applicable, candidates must clearly demonstrate how they meet any asset qualifications in their cover letter and rsum.

  • Written and oral French communication skills
  • Experience using a client-centered database

Operational Requirements: 

  • Working hours are 37.5 hours per week Monday to Thursday 8:00 to 16:30, and Friday 8:00 to 13:30.
  • Occasional duties outside normal working hours (i.e., evenings and weekends) may be required, sometimes on short notice.

Selection Procedure:

  • Able to obtain and retain a Government of Canada Reliability Status, which includes an Australian Federal Police check, credit check, and validation of qualifications. The Reliability Status must be maintained throughout the employment period.
