About the Role
The Commercial Officer will assist and undertake commercially focused and other required administrative tasks and projects in asset and property management to achieve government priorities in the management of Crown land.
The Commercial Officer will be responsible for undertaking a broad range of activities in the commercial management of Crown assets. This will involve sourcing information and data in order to prepare briefs, reports and submissions for the implementation and evaluation of projects in accordance with the provisions of the Crown Land Management Act, 2016.
Responsibilities also include maintaining the integrity of land information data and undertaking administrative and office management tasks and projects.

To be successful in this role you will possess knowledge of dealing with government property, preferably Crown land. You will have a Current Drivers licence and willingness to travel.
You will have relevant industry experience as well as broad administrative experience and an ability to undertake commercially focused land administration and land management duties.
You will be highly proficient with Microsoft software and be familiar with operating land information systems and have an ability to do property related research.
You will have well established communication skills and an ability to provide appropriately balanced, accurate and timely advice.
You will have demonstrated ability to effectively manage and prioritise a range of tasks to achieve targets in a high workload environment.
The Housing and Property Group within Department of Planning, Industry and Environment (DPIE) oversees the management of state government assets, including the management of Crown land, the NSW Government’s social housing portfolio and oversight of strategic use and disposal of government owned land. The Group also includes the Aboriginal Housing Office, the Valuer General and the Land and Housing Corporation. The Group leverages public and private sector expertise to improve place-based outcomes, providing greater access and choice of housing through initiatives such as an end-to-end housing strategy, and improving outcomes for Aboriginal communities to maximise community benefit from government owned land and property.
