Conducting site assessments and producing reports on findings
Communicating plans to project teams and senior staff
Performance tracking against sustainability performance targets
Reporting and monitoring against sustainability objectives
Responsible for the finalisation and implementation of the Sustainability Management Plan (SMP)
Review and update SMP as required
Monitor and report progress against project sustainability targets monthly
Work with site supervisors and sub-contractors to implement sustainability initiatives and report on indicators
Responsible for the data and documented evidence collection and co-ordination
Reviews and audits energy, water and fuel use and waste generation
Reports on sustainability performance monthly
Monitor on site environmental and sustainability performance
Implement sustainability through mediums such as Toolbox talks, internal messaging (posters, campaigns etc)
Endorse and monitor the effective implementation of the CEMP.
Lead the assessment of the project aspects & impacts and the development and implementation of preventative control measures in conjunction with project management team and subcontractors and sub-consultants as required.
Conduct site inspections, reviews and internal audits as required.
Review audit reports and act, as necessary.
Environmental support to the project team.
Reporting notifiable environmental incidents that present potential or existing harm to the environment.
Ensuring ongoing compliance of environmental management.
Tracking of applicable environmental legislation and regulations under the Project and communication of relevant changes to Project staff.
Environmental monitoring and data collection.
Fulfilment of all other reasonable requests or directions issued by Managers or other team members
Qualifications and Requirements
minimum of 5 years experience in environmental management, with a minimum of two years environmental experience in environmental experience in road construction environment
have demonstrated competence and suitable experience in environmental management in a construction environment with high environmental risks or complex environmental issues
be a member of the Environment Institute of Australia, Environment Business Australia, or other appropriate affiliation; and
have successfully completed a nationally accredited training course which addresses management practices for erosion and sediment control (green card or equivalent).
have sufficient and relevant experience in design and construction of infrastructure or buildings, including having a tertiary qualification in an engineering, environmental or natural resource management, landscape architecture or similar discipline, or equivalent experience relevant to the position and the Delivery Activities
be an Infrastructure Sustainability Accredited Professional (ISAP), as defined in the ISCA IS rating scheme
Job duration will be approx. 2 years with potential for ongoing fulltime work pending performance.
Project location is at Kilmany, Victoria.
$80k to $110k PA including Superannuation
