In Australia, our client will be instrumental in the delivery of Snowy Scheme expansion project (Snowy Hydro 2.0), consisting of designing and building an underground hydroelectric power plant with a capacity of 2,000MW.

The Role

Appointed to lead the Designer Joint Venture, our client will perform the design and technical construction assistance of the power station complex.

The QA Project Manager will be part of the Lead Design team based in Cooma and reports to the DJV Project Manager. This position will consist in managing the system and processes in place for Quality Control, Assurance and Management of the DJV but also to identify, propose and implement actions to improve them as necessary with the mobilization of the Production Centers Leads.

Key Responsibilities

 Develop implement and maintain project - specific Quality Management Plan (QMP) & Procedures

 Implement, maintain, and improve the project Quality Management System (QMS)

Ensuring the QMP & QMS is effectively implemented

 Developing and providing training for personnel relates to quality

 Approving the quality elements of the suppliers, contractor, and sub-contractor's method statements

 Ensuring suppliers, contractors and sub-contractors fulfil their quality obligations

Ensuring compliance with contractual quality requirements

 Providing advice and instruction to enable quality non-conformities to be dealt with rapidly and effectively

 Analysing individual quality non-conformities to identify trends, root causes and the corrective actions needed

 Monitoring further processing, delivery, and installation of non-conforming product until deficiencies or unsatisfactory conditions have been rectified

 Ensuring corrective action is implemented and effective

 Communicating quality management requirements including solutions to quality issues

 Maintain knowledge of all ISO 9000 Quality systems and process standards and provide training to staff for same and evaluate all procedures to ensure adherence to all guidelines Responsibilities relating to (Inspection Test Plans) ITPs, Hold and Witness points, Defect Management and RFIs

Key skills

 5-10 years experience in both Quality Assurance and Project Management capacity highly regarded

 Exposure to Geotechnical/Hydro/Civil Engineering, Excavation

 Proficiency in Aconex compulsory

 Familiar with Site Management Plan, SIPOC, Planning

 Excellent written and oral communication skills

 Highly organised, good attention to detail and ability to multitask
