Corporate Relations primarily exists to promote Curtin University’s reputation, student recruitment, and stakeholder engagement.
All areas within the portfolio actively contribute to fulfilling the goals of the University’s Strategic Plan and assisting Curtin to move towards its 2030 vision of being an internationally recognised leader in research and education.
Our work focuses on external audiences such as prospective students and influencers, our alumni, partner organisations, government and corporate stakeholders, actual and potential donors, and media organisations.
We have an exciting opportunity for an IT savvy operations and events professional to join the team and coordinate the operations for the Curtin St Georges Terrace Precinct. Based across the two University’s premises on St George’s Terrace, Perth, you will liaise with the venues, service providers and external partners, to ensure the effective day-to-day running of the venues and events. In this role you will
Manage venue bookings, including room and IT equipment set up.
Provide advice to management on operational matters to ensure venue bookings are effectively coordinated.
Work in collaboration with University Events to coordinate and deliver high quality events, participating in events when required.
Assist with the coordination of staff by providing local inductions, training and staff communications.
Report any venue issues, and ensure venue repairs, maintenance or upgrades are completed.
Produce relevant reports, and prepare agendas for board and committee meetings.
Perform general administration/operational duties for the area, including processing payments, reporting health and safety concerns, and acting as a First Aider and Chief Warden for the venue (s).

We are looking for someone with
Outstanding operations and event management skills, with extensive corporate events experience.
Experience in a venue scheduling and customer-facing role.
Demonstrated experience in coordinating the administrative and operational requirements of a business team.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with all staff and clients, and the ability to produce documentation that is clear and concise.
High level computer literacy with skills in in a wide range of applications including web/video conferencing and customer relationship management databases.
Outstanding interpersonal skills, including the ability to liaise and build rapport with a wide range of staff and external partners.
Demonstrated organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple and often competing tasks with attention to accuracy and detail within deadlines.
The ability to work independently and effectively as part of a team
Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to use discretion and knowledge to determine appropriate actions.
