This is an excellent opportunity for a Commercial Analyst to work at Adventist Healthcare and will give the successful candidate the chance to develop data-driven business solutions that will allow strategic decision-making outcomes across the hospital.


The Role

You will be part of a small team with responsibilities for investment and divestment analysis and support for strategic decision making across the hospital.

The role will involve provision of information and analysis to the leadership team. The candidate will be able to review, analyse, and evaluate business systems within a large healthcare delivery platform.

Reporting to the Senior Commercial Director, the role will provide analysis and direction for business improvement processes and for acquisition/divestment opportunities. The candidates work will be used in routine department monitoring as well as strategic decision making.

An appropriate degree and/or significant work experience in similar roles are needed. Familiarity with relevant statistical analysis software, Power BI and strong Excel skills is also required. Interpersonal skills will be a candidates strength to provide reporting and direction to team leaders and management, with full analysis and support for the investment decisions.

Our preferred candidate will be able to identify the most appropriate way to analyse and report on growth opportunities. A background in the healthcare industry would be regarded favourably.

The role includes performing investment analysis (including DCF and IRR assessments), detailed requirements analysis, documenting key business processes and controls for integrations, and coordinating and managing the collection, collation and reporting of data for budgeting and financial statement forecasting, capital expenditure planning, costing and benchmarking.

The successful candidate must be a self-starter, who can pick things up quickly, and who can work unsupervised on transaction/deal-based work with senior business stakeholders. The role requires an excellent eye for detail, and a diligent attitude to understand and resolve issues relating to complex business logic.



To be successful in this role you must have:

  • A bachelors degree in business or related field
  • A minimum of 5 years experience in business analysis or a related field.
  • Exceptional analytical and conceptual thinking skills.
  • Demonstrated experience with acquisition and integration of business opportunities
  • Excellent analytical skills - ability to validate strategic decisions from robust analysis of large volumes of data
  • Excellent stakeholders communication skills - ability to proactively identify, communicate and document investment and divestment opportunities driven by robust analytics
  • Proven ability to interact productively with a wide range of key stakeholders, including (but not limited to) Directors, C-suite executives, doctors, nurses, Business Managers and Allied Health professionals
  • Excellent reporting design (Microsoft Power BI & Excel)



  • A background in the healthcare industry would be regarded favourably
  • Professional qualifications (CA, CPA, CFA, MBA)
