About the Telecommunications Industry Ombudsman (TIO)

The TIO is one of the highest volume complaint resolution bodies in Australia. We provide a fair, independent, and accessible external dispute resolution service. The Communications & Engagement team reports to the Assistant Ombudsman, Improvement, Policy & Reporting (IPR).

The IPR group works closely with the telecommunications industry and regulators to drive improvements in the delivery of telecommunications services, and with others in the TIO to promote a culture of continuous improvement in complaints handling.

The role

The Digital Communications Innovator reports to the Media and External Communications Specialist and contributes to the development and delivery of the organisations digital strategy by delivering activities through multichannel communications.

Some of the tasks the role contributes to and delivers include:

  • contemporary and innovative digital communication initiatives in line with the organisations digital strategy
  • multichannel digital campaigns (social media, electronic direct mail and website content)
  • maintenance and monitoring of organisational digital platforms (internal and external)
  • digital channel solution design and management
  • projects, campaigns, and marketing activities (multimedia, video production, photography)

This is a full-time, ongoing role as a TIO employee.

Your skills and experience:

For this role, we are looking for people with the following skills & experience:

  • Bachelor degree or equivalent in digital communications, marketing or relevant discipline is essential
  • Experience delivering digital strategy and website content management in a consumer facing industry (3+ years)
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating multichannel digital campaigns (social media, electronic direct mail, and website content)
  • Highly skilled in the coordination of multimedia and end-to-end video production
  • Experience with photography
  • Experienced in storytelling, editing, and applying plain language principles
  • Undertaking digital campaigns analysis and measurement reporting
  • Intermediate to advanced skills and experience in:
  • Microsoft Office (365) suite
  • Drupal website content management system
  • Facebook Business Suite and LinkedIn Ad Manager
  • Hootsuite
  • EDM software
  • Google Analytics
  • Adobe Creative Suite: Final Cut Pro/InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop (desirable)
  • Delivering projects on time and meeting tight deadlines
  • Contributing to organisational improvement
  • Presenting/ delivering complex information to diverse audiences
  • Providing high level advice to internal stakeholders
  • Influencing and engaging with stakeholders at all levels within an organisation
  • Operating at both at a strategic and operational level as required
  • Complying with organisational confidentiality and privacy obligations
