Business Development Manager - Architecture & Design

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Business Development Manager to join a global market leader of workplace furniture. Driven by sustainability and design, the Australian arm of the business has gone from strength to strength and has an exciting future ahead.

 

They are a house of brands, acquiring and merging with existing designers and manufacturers to work together under one shared vision across international markets. With 3 employees based out of the Sydney showroom and a designated BDM based in Melbourne, the team is small but dynamic and driven.

 

The ideal candidate will have a strong technical understanding, coupled with a hunger for networking, building relationships, and driving results. 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and develop relationships with key architects and design studios 
  • Perform regular presentations and product demonstrations to A&D studios and dealers
  • Identify and develop relationships with other specifiers such as Occupational Therapists and Ergonomists, Physiotherapists, Project Managers and Facility Managers
  • Attend industry events to network and generate new leads
  • Support and develop existing dealers/partners in your territory while identifying and growing new distribution opportunities
  • Regularly update and educate dealers with new brands and product information
  • Monitor dealer showrooms and websites to ensure best representation of brands
  • Stay up to date and report on market trends and competitor activities
  • Regular interstate travel and when possible, overseas travel for training and research at international events

 

Skills and Experience

  • Proven experience in selling and specifying Architectural Products
  • Commercially minded and results driven
  • Ability to build on existing network of Architects and Designers
  • Ability to work autonomously and manage time efficiently
  • Hunter-mentality with a penchant for knowledge and detailing
