Client-side Senior Project Manager

Reporting to the Project Directors, you will be responsible for the planning, execution, control and completion of specific projects ensuring compliance with agreed strategies and objectives to ensure projects are delivered on time and within scope and budget to ensure client satisfaction.

To be successful you will ideally have extensive experience and understanding of the building and construction process including project design and contract administration coupled with a solid background in managing a range of projects from concept through to completion. Experience in managing government projects as well as fire safety orders upgrades would be desirable.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of business cases.
  • Meet all project scope, budget and time objectives.
  • Ensure all works are carried out in compliance with relevant codes, approvals  and standards.
  • Manage the project team, including design and construction personnel.
  • Manage project resources (time, financial, equipment) allocation.
  • Manage and liaise with all project stakeholders.
  • Plan and schedule project timelines.
  • Monitor and report on progress of the project to all stakeholders.
  • Present timely reports and minutes defining project progress, problems and solutions.
  • Implement and manage changes to the project scope, schedule and budget.
  • Perform risk management to minimise project risks.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.

Key Requirements:

  • Proven history of delivering or exceeding the expectations of clients and stakeholders in respect to outcomes, budget and time management.
  • 7+ years experience working as a Client-side Project Manager within the construction/building industry.
  • Experience in co-ordinating the successful delivery of multiple projects concurrently.
  • Possession of relevant building/construction related qualification or experience.
  • Well-developed skills in report writing, leadership and management.
  • Conceptual, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, negotiating and interpersonal skills.
  • Understanding of planning and heritage approval processes.
