EOI Minor Works Estimator

Protek247 is an established building and maintenance company certified to ISO9001 & AS/NZ4801 servicing the Perth Metropolitan area.  

We are now accepting expression of interests for a Minor Works Estimator! Our scope is small to medium commercial refurbishments and new builds for government and private clients.  

The ideal candidate will have a well-rounded knowledge of the construction industry and the ability to work reactively.

Your key responsibilities at Protek247 will include:

  • Calculating the cost and time estimates for a job including arranging supplier quotes, and estimating man-hours on the job
  • Reviewing and determining budgets for the job
  • Interpreting plans, regulations, and relevant codes of practice
  • Resolving discrepancies by collecting and analysing information
  • Assisting with scheduling and planning of jobs 
  • Building a strong rapport with clients and contractors
  • Liaising and assisting supervisors in forward planning for a job 
  • Ensuring compliance with approved company policies and procedures

Requirements:

  • Previous 2-3 years of experience as an estimator
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Thorough understanding of building codes and different construction methods
  • Ability to develop scopes from client site meetings
  • Flexibility, initiative and a can-do attitude
  • High attention to detail and ability to multitask 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (including Project)
  • Solid safety culture background 
  • Working at Heights certificate (current within the last year)
  • Construction Blue/White Card
  • Able to produce a National Police Clearance (current within the last year)
  • Able to pass a pre-employment medical including a drug and alcohol test
  • Must have a manual drivers licence and a reliable trade suitable vehicle 

 

Desirables:

  • Trade qualified or previous trade experience
  • HRWL (Forklift and EWP)
  • Truck licences (HR or MR)
  • First Aid
