Tool Room Supervisor

Azuma Design is seeking an enthusiastic, results driven person to fill the role of Tool Room supervisor in our busy Tool Room.  This is a hands on role requiring supervision and oversight of the Tool Room.

Your Purpose

As the Supervisor you will be responsible for the day to day planning and productivity of the Tool Room and supervision of Tool Room staff.

Key accountabilities:

  • Provide leadership, plan and organises work of tool room employees to ensure that objectives and targets are achieved to a maximum efficiency and within budgeted costs.
  • Leading Safety & ensuring the maintenance of a healthy and safe working environment.
  • Assist production personnel in all matters relating to quality control.
  • Develop sampling techniques & procedures to ensure production of finished goods meet quality specifications and standards.
  • Investigate defects which may occur with raw materials.
  • Install basic inspection and testing procedures & recommend corrective action to ensure conformity to quality specifications and standards.
  • Interaction with the RMA process through, sales, customer service, product management and production personnel.
  • Interaction with vendors (local and overseas) for quality tooling issues.
  • Design and manufacture prototypes, jigs and fixtures on request.
  • Undertake minor repair of press tools and moulding dies as required.
  • Provide employee coaching and development

What you need to succeed:

  • Qualifications in toolmaking
  • A demonstrated track record of success in a similar role with 5 years plus experience
  • Proficient in Solid works & Cad Cam Programs.
  • Possess an above average to high mechanical aptitude or technical understanding.
  • Strong communication skills
  • Attention to detail and commitment to meeting deadlines and responsibilities.
