About the role

The Senior Resource Allocation Officer is responsible for the rostering and scheduling services and employee liaison to ensure efficient and effective support to Goodwins residential care services. This is a challenging yet rewarding role to ensure rostering, and scheduling of workforce is logistically sound, efficient, and effective use of employee resources.

About you

You will be focused on continual improvement and sharing innovative ideas, and delivering efficiencies and reliability in our processes and system. You will be a transformational leader and successfully adapts to varying work situations and is flexible in your approach to resolving challenges. You will be a competent leader of the Resource Allocation Team, and your considerable experience in the not-for-profit sector (while not essential), will be highly regarded.

You build rapport easily and feel confident establishing and maintaining effective links and relationships with key internal stakeholders. You have a keen eye for detail and enjoy identifying and managing process improvements.

You are enthusiastic and committed to providing excellent customer service to all stakeholders and thrive on also working autonomously. Furthermore, you possess the proven ability to think on your feet and proactively find solutions to issues as and when they arise

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure rostering, and scheduling of workforce is logistically sound, efficient, and  with effective use of employee resources, rostering tools and systems.
  • Ensure all forward planning requirements of residential care rosters is managed and delivered
  • Ensure appropriate workforce planning strategies and practices are embedded
  • Attend daily scheduling to cover unplanned changes in employee availability, including absenteeism, emergency replacement, or backfilling requirements.
  • Ensure rosters are regularly reviewed to meet key service indicators.
  • Ensure effective use of employee availability through effective roster allocation.
  • Ensure proactive leave planning to ensure continuity of care and service delivery.
  • Participate actively in problem-solving and finding solutions for scheduling difficulties and challenges in consultation with support from the relevant site operational manager and General Manager Residential Care
  • Develop efficiencies, process and system improvements within the resource allocations area
  • Day to day liaison with employees regarding roster changes.
  • Meet regularly with the Directors of Nursing at the relevant sites to ensure that the rostering and scheduling practices are meeting operational needs and requirements

To apply, you must have:

  • Minimum 3-years experience in rostering or scheduling, preferably within a 24/7 environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment to effectively plan and manage a large workforce.
  • Demonstrate excellent time management and organisational skills and an ability to prioritise work tasks.
  • Demonstrated high accuracy
  • Well-developed communication skills (written, verbal and listening) including high level telephone techniques to liaise effectively with employees.
  • Full Drivers Lisence

The successful candidate must possess the right to work in Australia; be vaccinated against influenza, and be willing to undergo a Criminal Background Check as a pre-requisite to employment.
