About the roles

  • Water & Sewer Attendant

Reporting to the Coordinator Maintenance, Water & Sewer Attendants are responsible for assisting with the maintenance, repair, rehabilitation, minor construction and inspection of water and sewer infrastructure.

The ideal candidates will have:

  • Certificate III Water Industry or have appropriate experience and be prepared to obtain
  • Previous experience in the construction and/or maintenance of water or wastewater infrastructure
  • Class MR Drivers licence
  • National Construction Induction Certificate (White card)

Salary: Starting salary of around $51k plus Superannuation

All other conditions of employment will be in accordance with the Council's Enterprise Agreement and NSW Local Government (State) Awards.

  • Leading Hand Sewer

The Leading Hand Sewer positions are responsible for leading Council staff in the operation, repair, maintenance, installation and construction of Coffs Harbour Water's sewerage infrastructure. You will organise allocated tasks to make the best use of plant, materials, time and resources to ensure tasks are completed in accordance with Council's objectives, levels of service, programs, standards and procedures.

The ideal candidates will have:

  • Trade qualification or Certificate III Water Industry
  • Previous experience in the construction and/or maintenance of water or wastewater infrastructure
  • Demonstrated knowledge of plant and equipment operation maintenance and safety procedures for: backhoe, truck, pumps, compressors, concrete mixers, generators, power tools and pipe locating equipment
  • Class LR Drivers licence
  • National Construction Induction Certificate (White card)

Salary: Starting salary of around $55k plus Superannuation

All other conditions of employment will be in accordance with the Council's Enterprise Agreement and NSW Local Government (State) Awards.

Willingness to participate in on call and after-hours' work will be a requirement of these roles.
