This is a rare and highly attractive career option for an Accountant with an exclusive private city club in Melbourne with a small payroll of 10+ staff. You will be responsible for maintaining the financial records of business transactions including company ledgers to the trial balance and preliminary P&L / Balance Sheet for submission to the external accountant.
 Key responsibilities: 

  • Preparation and payment of payroll and superannuation, as authorised by management;
  • Preparation and payment of BAS and other tax payments, as authorised by management;
  • Bank account (s) reconciliation (s);
  • Accounts receivable;
  • Accounts payable;
  • Month End processes;
  • Coding and data entry of invoices and vendor paperwork into the general ledger;
  • Preparation of various financial reports as requested by management;
  • Weekly / Monthly review of planned tasks on finance calendar;
  • Matching of purchase orders and processing invoices;
  • Processing employee expense reimbursements;
  • Handling Petty cash;
  • Reports to external company Accountant as required;
  • Other duties as directed by the General Manager or his designate

You have:

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy;
  • The ability to work autonomously and as a team player;
  • Strong communication skills and a proactive attitude;
  • A high degree of I.T competency, especially in Excel and Accounting packages; and 
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to multi - task 

The successful candidate will be required to undergo a Police Check prior to appointment.
