Production Manager.

Actionlaser is an Australian owned manufacturing company located in Hornsby NSW, producing Laserscreens for Industrial customers in Australia and around the world.

We are seeking an experienced and energetic Production Manager to join our team based in Hornsby.  Reporting to the CEO, this position is responsible for planning, directing and coordinating the factory processes to ensure customer requirements and standards are achieved.  

In addition, this role will be responsible for ensuring employees always follow standard operating procedures which will contribute to a strong safety and quality culture within the team. Your first four months will be undertaking operator training, as with all new staff, to appreciate the complexity of our manufacturing environment.

 

Key Accountabilities:

  • Provide leadership that fosters collaboration and a high performing culture and encourages safe working practices
  • Actively conduct scheduling meetings
  • Administrate and manage the ISO 9001 quality systems, including audits.
  • Coach, mentor and lead the team in a positive and engaging manner to ensure operational targets are met
  • Provide training to all team members to ensure they are adequately trained and competent
  • Seek to maximize production targets and review stocktakes
  • Manage rosters for team to ensure adequate resources whilst maintaining labour targets
  • Actively participates in continuous improvement projects
  • Work with key stakeholders and departments to reduce production costs and optimize operating budgets
  • Seek opportunities to improve, develop or discuss ideas that may prove marketable or successful
  • Ensure KPIs are achieved

 

What we are looking for:

This position would suit someone that is passionate about developing their career and willing to put in the work.  In addition, they must have: 

  • Experience within a similar role within the manufacturing industry
  • Experience with CNC systems and sheet metal are highly favourable
  • Strong leadership skills, with demonstrated ability to successful manage a team
  • Dedicated with strong work ethic and a can-do attitude
  • Ability to work under pressure with pace and energy to meet deadlines
  • An understanding of lean principles would be ideal but not essential
  • A strong commitment to accountability and ownership of the production area
