This leading privately owned civil contractor is well known in the industry for specialising in Bulk Excavation, Basements, Shoring, Detailed Excavation, Remediation, Demolition, Stormwater Drainage, Roads & Carparks. They provide their clients with Civil, Industrial & Building and Construction services and cater to clients throughout SE Queensland.
We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Junior Site Engineer to work in Brisbane on building and civil projects. This position generally focuses on the completion of set tasks and project activities. The Junior Site Engineer position works closely with the Site Supervisor and the QA Engineer, providing support to ensure quality controls and assurance practices are implemented and delivered in accordance with our systems.
Work closely with the Site Supervisor to deliver project tasks and outcomes in accordance with schedule.
A strong focus on the safety and quality aspects of the project.
Reviewing and validating plans and drawings and interface with design engineers and draftsmen to ensure accuracy.
Complete routine engineering tasks including take offs.
Application of technical and engineering expertise to the project.
Engagement and management of sub-contractors, ensuring paperwork is in place, inductions completed, and work standards / schedules are being adhered to.
Day to day operational and site engagement with clients.
Under supervision, forecast, program and cost control, building competence and awareness of budget and cost management.
Perform ITPs, Quality Assurance and coordinating sub-contractors on a day-to-day basis and other supporting documentations.
Organising QA supporting data Liaising with Surveyor (AS-CONS), Geo testing (Testing frequencies, Densities, DCPs, Material reports), Asphalt Core tests, Concrete lab testing, Kerbing docs.
Role & Responsibilities:
Managing labour, machinery, materials and sub-contractors to meet projects within the contracted timeframe.
Ensure plant and equipment is inspected and ensuring that work is carried out in accordance with current codes, standards, operation and maintenance manuals and specifications.
Work with the project team ensuring commitment to work safety and provide information, instructions and coordination to sub-contractors and suppliers on the project.
Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the WHS&E legislation to ensure all duties and work practices are carried out in accordance with the legislation, policies and procedures.
Demonstrated expertise in the coordination and allocation of assigned tasks to maximise plant and personnel utilisation and adherence to site project plan.
Where applicable, ensure that cost variations are received, recorded and communicated to the project team prior to acceptance of the work.
Strong reporting skills including the preparation and submission of reports, claims, variations and associated documentation.
Be familiar with Health & Safety issues and requirements, including experience in Zero Harm schemes or similar.
Degree in Civil Engineering
At least 1 year experience in a similar role
1-year professional experience in the Civil Construction industry
