We are representing one of the largest automotive refinishing producers based in Germany. They have established car refinishing new technology to the automotive refinishing market. The company seeks high calibre experience Business Development Manager to undertake to establish automotive refinishing new technology in Australian market. The company is a new company to Australia with a new brand name to be establish all over Australia. The company consist of flat leadership structure which gives their team a direct connection to the key stakeholders and ability to be nimble and dynamic.


About the role

We are looking for a BDM with sound technical knowledge in the automotive refinishing market that has proven track record in new brand establishment. Responsible for the brand development and channel management of the company and the successful candidate will formulate operation plans to establish new technology in the new market, develop a regional training implementation and distribution and warehouse management to achieve high level of market penetration. The technical background of the current automotive refinishing industry, to transfer new technology to the industry is the expectation through digital and non-digital platforms and channels.


Duties and responsibilities

  • To be based in South Australia - Corporate office
  • Represent the organisation on all matters to the Australian market
  • Complete accountability for top line and market penetration
  • Develop short term and long-term marketing plans to establish new technology
  • Achievement of the company objectives and results in an effective and efficient manner. 
  • Maintain close liaison with service providers, dealerships and independent panel shops and franchise networks. 
  • Board reporting and presentation
  • Contribute to the strategic leadership to the global stakeholders
  • Identify analyse and recommend new business opportunities
  • Ensure the compliance of the company in respect of legislation, policies and procedure, limits of authority. 
  • Any other duties assigned by the leadership from time to time.

Skills and Experience

  • Significant automotive aftermarket refinishing industry experience at senior level.
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of sales and marketing disciplines
  • Ability to establish, maintain, grow and develop new technology in the existing market.
  • Ability to Business planning, implementation and evaluation
  • In-depth understanding of the automotive refinishing technology and key drivers and the ability to manipulate them.
  • Sound background in new brand building and market study
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective interpersonal relationships with external stakeholders.
  • Decisive and action oriented
  • Strong negotiation ability.
  • Strong and effective communication both oral and written
  • Ability to motivate and develop staff and leadership to the market.
  • Strong personal integrity
