Junior Legal Assistant


Due to growth and new opportunities, Hope Earle Lawyers & Advisors are pleased to offer a new role (4 or 5 days per week) as junior legal and administrative assistant in our city office. 

This opportunity will suit an enthusiastic person looking to start their career in the legal industry. You will be assisting various teams including our family law, commercial and property divisions in your role as a junior legal and administrative assistant. The right person will gain valuable experience and skills in this ongoing position by working directly with partners and senior fee earners across a broad range of legal practices.

Our clients range from large publicly listed companies to vibrant small enterprises as well as a range of private clients.  The right candidate will have direct exposure to clients and will have an opportunity to become an integral team member.



Your role will be primarily to provide administrative assistance to legal practitioners across multiple disciplines which includes scheduling appointments, opening matters, and answering and directing phone queries, assisting with litigation briefs and a variety of other administrative tasks.  As your skills develop, we expect that you will become familiar with our practice management system so that you can process client requests, actively manage electronic files on our latest software platform, assist and prepare billing cycles, drafting and amending correspondence and legal documents and Court / government forms (including drafting, amending and formatting of Word documents) and assist with client inquiries.  You will also assist with Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, consular work and will be required to attend offsite venues within the CBD from time to time.

The role is particularly well suited to students embarking on a law degree.



You are committed to building a career within the office support and legal industry.  You will have a keen eye for detail and have a strong work ethic.  You are well-presented, highly organised, honest and have excellent written and verbal communication skills.  We welcome enquiries from law students or persons who have recently completed a diploma in paralegal studies.  You must be familiar with Microsoft Word and usual computer interface programs including browser and file management software.

You may also have (but are not required to have) familiarity with other Microsoft Office programs including Excel and PowerPoint.

Any work experience with social media platforms, such as Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn will also be favourably viewed, although it is not essential.

Most importantly, you are bright, energetic and enjoy working in a stimulating team environment.  Your reliability and willingness to accept new challenges and meet strict deadlines will be essential to you gaining the most from this wonderful opportunity.
