We enjoy the thrill of planning and delivering a year round portfolio of events including Brisbane City Councils Green Heart Fairs, Clean Up Australia Day, community events, workshops and industry events. The Specialist Events and Community Engagement will play a lead role in the operational coordination of events, providing a highly organised, structured approach to ensure the delivery of high-quality event experiences. The position is offered on a full-time, fixed term basis.
Your key responsibilities
Deliver end-to-end event coordination through executing milestones and key deliverables for each event.
Manage detailed project plans, run sheets, production schedules for each event and event documentation such as road closures and risk assessments. You will also manage contractors and implement service standards and safety protocol, for events.
Managing and briefing entertainers and presenters.
Manage staff and casuals, interns and contractors for events.
Onsite management of all event logistics including bump in and bump out.
Collate data for coordination of reports and communication in relation to events.
Work closely with the Marketing team to ensure the creation and delivery of event collateral.
Understand and implement WHS&E procedures to ensure compliance across security, food safety, WHS issues related to each activity.
Opportunity to contribute to event strategy and programming.
You will manage vendor relationships and procurement processes by sourcing, engaging and negotiating with suppliers, ensuring event income and expenses align with budget.
You will be a passionate and experienced events professional with exceptional communication skills and attention to detail. Ideally you will possess a tertiary qualification in events, marketing, business development, and/or substantial experience in the events industry
To see you succeed in this role, you will have proven experience in coordinating and executing events to a high standard, exceptional communication skills and extraordinary attention to detail.
Your negotiation, decision making and interpersonal skills will allow you to successfully engage with a diverse range of stakeholders including community and corporate partners, and all levels of government.
Commitment to getting the job done with a flexible approach to work including a willingness.
You will be required to hold a current Queensland C class driver's license.
Self-starter able to operate with a high level of independence and motivation to meet targets, and deliver a busy work-program on-time.

Proficiency with computer systems and software, with an ability to effectively manage records, works schedules, contacts and communications across numerous organisations.
