SELWOOD STEEL TRADING, is a Sheet and Coil Steel distributor, based in Carrum Downs, Victoria.
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic person with skill and experience in Warehouse supervising in the steel industry.
Your leadership skills will coordinate, administer and supervise all personnel within the warehouse. Your direct responsibilities will be in manufacturing, processing and warehouse functions.
Skills and Experience
Past Management Experience preferably in the steel industry
Optimise workflow with proven time management skills
Strong written and verbal communication
Leadership with a hands on approach
Strong organisational skills
Fork lift licence
A team player that motivates and encourages staff.
Increase efficiencies through management skills
Mechanical and technical aptitude required
Areas of responsibility
Has the responsibility of for stock movement and storage of all materials.
Has the responsibility for maintaining the equipment calibration logs, the coil/pack register and checking all inward goods/outward goods. Has the authority to delegate these responsibilities as and when appropriate and required.
To coordinate all production requirements of equipment with operators.
To supervise and coordinate all activities and functions concerned with manufacturing.
Is to partake in development and improvement of processes and to promote productivity.
To coordinate trucks, truck-drivers and the delivery manifests.
To liase and communicate with Team leaders and Production Coordinator.
To supervise all warehouse/production personnel in their daily routines and tasks.
To assist and coordinate maintenance personnel (external contractors) whilst on site.
Has the authority to engage outside contractors for maintenance on all equipment including fork lifts/cranes.
To oversee maintenance requirements.
To promote continual improvement in work practices and matter pertaining to our Quality Management System.
Work Place Safety:
Has responsibility for maintaining safety in the work place, ensuring that all personnel observe safety apparel and procedure requirements/policies.
Is to report any concerns, problems, difficulties or hazards with personnel, process, warehousing, equipment etc. to Management.
Is to improve safety initiatives.
Human Resources Overtime/Absenteeism:
Is responsible for the upkeep of the absentee register and for the completion of entries onto the injury register.
Coordinate overtime requirements in conjunction with Team Leaders and Managing Director.
To oversee consumable purchasing for both warehouses via the Team Leaders.
To open up both warehouses on daily basis.
To ensure all equipment and lights are turned off at the end of the working day and to ensure all roller doors and external doors are locked securely in the warehouse areas.
Full time position: Day shift (3 months probation period)
Standard Hours:Monday To Friday 6.00am to 2.16pm plus overtime.
Salary Negotiable: Based on experience
