Who We Are
The Indigenous Desert Alliance (IDA) is a member-organisation which empowers Indigenous people (mainly rangers) managing Australia's Desert Country to realise their social/cultural, environmental and economic aspirations.
We do this through supporting capacity-building events, activities and projects for rangers and ranger teams; enhancing regional collaboration; and enabling one strong voice for the desert.

We are looking for someone to work with us full-time in the West Perth office to deliver high-quality administration to support our small, but growing team and our office. In particular the role will involve:
Undertaking office administration tasks and support activities;
Participating in the ongoing planning, development and implementation of the IDAs activities, events and projects;
Liaising and communicating with stakeholders;
Accounts processing work; and
Participating as a member of the IDA team.
To be able to do this job, you will need
A good understanding of the Indigenous social, cultural and economic context
The ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of people and good relationship-building skills
The ability to identify, implement and embed administrative and operational solutions
High levels of integrity and ability to carry out all tasks with professionalism and sensitivity
Attention to detail, good time management skills, self-organisation skills and the ability to work under pressure
The ability to work in teams and support team members
The ability to take instruction and also work autonomously
Solid Microsoft skills
It would also be really useful if you had
Some experience with databases
Experience in the development of policies and procedures
Experience in two-way (Indigenous and Non-Indigenous) communication
A willingness and ability to travel on occasion
