Production Manager

A successful Australian manufacturing company located in Richlands, Queensland is seeking an experienced, motivated and results driven Production Manager to head our small but dedicated team. The ideal candidate will come from a manufacturing background competent in all areas of production planning through to quality control, developing and maintaining operational systems, processes and procedures and be an effective communicator, building relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. The ability to think on your feet and adapt to an ever-changing environment is critical.

Alltruck Bodies is a market leader in building rigid truck bodies and trailers for various industry sectors and with close to 30 years in business, has established a reputation for delivering quality built products in a timely fashion. With factories located in both Dandenong Victoria and Richlands, Queensland, we are able to service customers Australia wide. Due to our expansion into brand new premises at Richlands, this role will be vital in ensuring our continued growth and ability to deliver a premium product.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • All facets of the manufacturing operations for the Factory
  • Improve operational systems, processes and procedures to ensure operational effectiveness and production efficiency
  • Ensuring that production / output targets are achieved
  • Overseeing inventory ordering, levels, stocktakes, storage and Factory Layout
  • Manage the Companys quality control programs
  • Monitor production KPIs and take corrective action
  • Quality Control Checking of all jobs prior to movement of job to next stage of production
  • Improve the communication and resolution of issues between Engineering, Purchasing, Sales and the Factory;
  • Optimise staff utilisation together with appropriate training
  • Providing leadership and guidance to all employees
  • Determine plant & equipment needs, involvement in plant and equipment commissioning and review of maintenance schedules
  • Contribute towards the achievement of the Companys strategic and operational objectives
  • Ensure compliance with WH&S legislation, policies and procedures.
  • Ensures that safe work practices are adhered to, and reports problems to the Factory Manager or Senior Management Levels

 

TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL NEED:

 

  • A trade background, ideally with experience in the steel fabrication industry and / or vehicle body building experience
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in a supervisory position
  • Exceptional organisational and time management skills together with a high level of attention to detail are essential
  • Strong communication skills dealing with all tiers of the business
  • Ability to lead and work with teams to achieve results
  • Ability to work under pressure while motivating others and meeting deadlines
  • Excellent computer skills (Outlook, Excel, Word)  
  • Ability to review processes and develop strategies to improve efficiencies.

  • To be able to clearly read, write and speak English

 

Hours: 7am to 4pm Monday to Friday with Saturday 6am to 10am as required.
