Business Development Manager

We are excited to be partnering with an exciting Australian business that is gaining some phenomenal traction within their industry. They specialise in PPE, workwear, and safety equipment throughout Queensland with an extensive range of products. Currently seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to take our client’s organisation to the next level.
Your success will be determined by your ability to rapidly develop knowledge of the business and target markets, research and identify high-value prospects and convert these prospects into profitable customers.
You will be required to:
Self-source leads and secure new business opportunities
Contact leads and conduct face to face business meetings with new prospects
Achieve set sales targets with a focus on over achievement
Ensure high standards of professionalism and customer service, thereby creating referral and intermediary opportunities
To be successful, you will have:
Existing business development skills with strong hunting experience in a similar industry
Ability to work autonomously
Proven sales ability and confidence in meeting KPI’s
Enthusiasm and drive for new business opportunities
Key responsibilities of the position include:
Work closely with management to develop a strategic sales plan to target new business
Research target markets and prospective opportunities in various sectors to build a solid pipeline of work
Pursue rising business opportunities, cultivate leads and convert them into customers
Collaborate with management and operations teams to achieve ongoing service excellence
Develop a strong understanding of competition in the industry and market positioning
Collaborate with all areas of the business to share your insights from the field on target markets and competitors
About you: The successful candidate will possess the following skills and attributes:
Previous experience in safety and related industries will be highly regarded
Demonstrated ability to quickly develop industry knowledge
Previous B2B business development experience – 5+ years preferred
Demonstrated ability to follow strategies in sales planning and forecasting
Strong commercial acumen with an ability to balance business decisions with costs to structure profitable deals
The ability to build rapport quickly with people at all levels and to coherently identify and understand the needs of the businesses being targeted
Excellent communication, listening, influencing, presentation, and time management skills
Solid computer skills with familiarity with Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel)
Previous experience with CRM systems
