Field Installation Technician

Principal Responsibilities

  • Installation of BD Rowa equipment at customer sites
  • Safe offloading and receipt of parts at the installation location
  • Responsible for the entire installation process including quality assurance of products and pre-commissioning sign off
  • Follow company and customer health and safety requirements and procedures
  • Complete administrative tasks relating to installations including Report Forms, checklists, safety documents, and machine file documentation.
  • Maintaining a safe, clean, and tidy and safe work environment at all times
  • Maintaining professional and positive behavior, promoting BD ethics and values
  • Completing own administration in a timely manner, e.g. timesheets, expenses, and training

To be considered for this role you will be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Proven electrical/mechatronic aptitude
  • City and Guilds/BTEC or Apprenticeship qualification in an electrical/mechatronic discipline or equivalent professional experience
  • Experience and confidence utilizing handheld power tools
  • Self-motivated individual with the ability to work in a team under pressure
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, take measurements and apply them to a worksite
  • Knowledge of workplace health and safety, including safe manual handling and the ability to work at height (A frame ladder)
  • Current unrestricted drivers' license
  • An interest in technology and the willingness to learn installation processes
  • Flexible and adaptable with capability and willingness to embrace change
  • Willingness to travel, extensively

Skills which will be an advantage to have:

  • Experience working with electrical control systems including relays, contactors, DC and AC
  • Experience working with process automation protocols. I.e. MODBUS, Profibus, Can-bus, Hart, Profinet (not essential)
  • Basic experience and understanding of automated control systems which include the use of PLCs
  • Knowledge of low voltage supplies and control wiring
  • Experience in HVAC control and / or Building Management Systems
  • Construction Skills Certification Scheme card or equivalent
