Based at our Rydalmere office, we are seeking a Product Design Engineer who is passionate about providing well-communicated, technically competent support to the product manufacturing and Service teams.
This role will help deliver the tools and infrastructure we need to build, test and release to our customers.
This position will be responsible for providing excellence in product design and to assist with quality assurance activities exceeding the required standards for multiple design projects.
Key areas of responsibility include:
Collaborating with the Bladestop team on R&D projects
Understanding the environments and industries the product is introduced to, and exploring solutions as a team to improve the product in those environments
Working closely with the Product & Design Team to ensure project or product specifications are agreed and documented.
Product quality standards and tests are documented and relative to the direction from Product and Technical management.
Review of technical standards (e.g.: AS/NZS, EN, ISO, British Standards, Customer specific corporate standards) and communicate requirements across business to ensure compliance to these standards.
Design, develop, analyse, validate, and verify Bladestop to ensure effective implementation plans.
Provide cost saving opportunities, product improvement initiative to ensure the effectiveness and relevance of the product.
Dig deep on Product related issues using manufacturing standards, such as RCA and lean methodologies.
Provide technical support to product and service teams
Skills, Experience & Attributes
Ability to display exceptional technical acumen,
Ability to work under pressure in a very dynamic environment while still delivering quality output,
Impeccable attention to detail,
Intermediate or advanced skills in using 3D CAD modelling software.
Strong knowledge about various manufacturing processes and machines,
Preferably over 2 years experience in a similar position.
Knowledge with automation controls (including, but not limited to, code based programming, PLCs, VFDs, instrumentation)
Experience in doing DOE, FMEA, RCA and Lean Methodology tools.
Mechanical/Electrical Engineer or equivalent/higher
