Milestone are seeking an experienced Senior Civil Estimator with a strong background in civil works. As the successful candidate, you will be tendering for projects between $200K - $10M. The company requires a candidate who can hit the ground running, being able to work in an autonomous role. This is an Excellent opportunity for an Estimator that is ready to take on a new challenge in taking control of their career to play a key role in the strategic development of a growing company. Working closely with our Estimating & Design Manager you will be a critical component of the business.
As a Senior Civil Estimator, you will be responsible for managing tenders from invitation through to submission. In addition, you will be working closely with the project delivery team in assisting in project cost tracking.
Review tender documentation - Develop Scope of Works, Resource Requirements, Materials Costing and Construction Methodologies and Programme
Identify cost risks and opportunities with various tender submissions & prepare cost plan
Post tender negotiations and contract reviews
Sourcing subcontractor and supplier quotes and availability
Responsible for Tender submission from start to finish (prepare, submit, win and handover approved tenders), as per company Procedures and Processes (as amended from time to time.)
Deliver Final Submission Review for Management review and approval as per IMS.
Tender Handover to construction team.
Tertiary education - Preferably in Civil Construction, other subjects considered
High level written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to confidently engage a variety of stakeholders
Min 3 + Years LOCAL Industry experience in RMS, Rail, Council & Subdivision tenders including Asphalt, Streetscape, Drainage, Stormwater, Concreting, Earthworks and Shoring Systems (required).
Industry experience working within the Sydney Metropolitan area with demonstrated results in civil and infrastructure projects.
Knowledge of TFNSW/RMS specification and processes.
Knowledge of Cubit or similar software.
Ability to estimate using first principles as well as using estimating software.
Demonstrated professional communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
Ability to manage complex and interdependent activities, often under time pressures to manage the tendering process efficiently so that an optimum tender can be submitted in a timely manner.
Must have concise Clear English-speaking ability

About your team
Our estimating team consist of 4 estimators. Estimating administrators will be responsible for main tender administrating roles so that estimators focus on their core strengths and tender estimations.
Our Estimating Manager and Project Team offer a strong support on tender reviews, methodology and contract reviews.
