We are currently looking for a permanent full-time Payroll Manager to join our finance team in Toowoomba office. Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will be responsible for the management of the end-to-end payroll process across Mort & Co and associated entities. This role requires a trustworthy team player who can work collaboratively across multiple departments to value add our payroll functions.
Functions of the role include:
End-to-end processing of fortnightly payroll for Mort & Co and associated entities
Manage payroll system optimisation and configuration
Ensure payroll compliance with state and federal workplace legislation including Awards
Maintain payroll records and assist with new team member onboarding
Effectively handle payroll enquiries
Preparation and lodgement of payroll tax and superannuation
End of month reporting to department managers
Additional finance related tasks (as required) including; inventory, insurance, capex, compliance, budgeting and fixed assets
Other duties as required by our Financial Controller
The successful applicant will have:
Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar payroll management position
High-level communication skills with an ability to gain trust and confidence and build strong relationships
A tertiary qualification in Business, Finance or Accounting would be highly regarded
Absolute confidentiality and exceptional accuracy, analytical skills and attention to detail
Solid understanding of payroll compliance regulations, Fair Work Act and best practice
A strong work ethic, initiative, and be reliable, conscientious and self-motivated
Ability to interpret and apply employee contracts, awards and enterprise agreements
