The Role

The successful candidate will be involved in all aspects of tendering, from pricing through to tender submission and contract negotiations.  This role is open to be based in either our Brisbane or Toowoomba office. 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Consistently look to source tenders through various avenues open to the industry.
  • Assess tenders to consider the type, client, and closing date of tender to determine prioritisation
  • Calculate and prepare quantities 
  • Undertake formal review of tender contract documents before arriving at the estimate value of the job to verify that all of client requirements are understood and that the company is able to meet the requirements
  • Review tender documents to ensure all relevant documentation has been received, assessing scope, risks involved, tender complexity etc. and provide feedback project teams
  • Take into account the costs of any issues which may become apparent during the process of estimation and ensure that the proposed deliverables of the contract fit within the capabilities of company to deliver the product required
  • Identify new and existing clients and subcontractors that can assist in proactive promotion of the company
  • Solicit and maintain communication with subcontractors and suppliers
  • Attend pre lodgement site meetings
  • Undertake and design safety reviews of constructability, operability and maintenance
  • Ensure all tenders are prepared in accordance with quality, safety, environmental and client requirements
  • Utilise SharePoint to upload and control tender packages, correspondence, and submission documentation
  • Utilise EstimateOne to prepare subcontractor packages, transmit quote information and track responses
  • Endeavour to source subcontractors and suppliers that are capable of complying with Management Systems
  • Identify and include suitable BIMS requirements into subcontractor packages
  • Follow up on and evaluate quotes
  • Prepare RFIs for tender information if required
  • Compile letter of offer, tender schedules, program and other items required by the tender 
  • Provide accurate & competitive benchmarking & estimate pricing
  • Completed tenders to be submitted for review and approval by relevant Manager prior to submission
  • Reply to clarifications or information requests following tenders
  • Follow up on tenders submitted
  • Communicate tender outcomes to all relevant parties
  • Make tender amendments where applicable utilising client feedback on submitted tenders
  • Coordinate and arrange for contract exchange for successful tenders
  • Prepare handover material of tender for the project team
  • Coordinate and conduct Handover meeting for successful tenders with the project team, providing detailed briefing of the tender requirements
  • As necessary provide support and respond to tender queries made by project team personnel
  • Provide support and mentoring to the Cadet Estimator


  • Extensive knowledge of estimating practices and procedures gained from at least 5 years experience in building and construction environment 
  • Familiar with BuildSoft program or similar
  • Knowledge of technical standards in preparing estimates and project costings
  • Experience in budget control and project monitoring, gained in the construction and building industry
  • Computer literacy and the capacity to use current PC based software including word processing, spreadsheets, presentations and communications
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-motivated and punctual
  • Able to manage multiple tasks and have excellent follow up skills both internally and externally
  • Must have a professional appearance 
  • Drivers Licence
