About the role:

Reporting directly to the onsite leadership team, this is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Mine Geologist to stand up and play a key leadership role in managing pit technicians & mine geologist to help the mining team achieve business targets and help develop the operation. Your primary function will be to manage daily geological activities for a major pit to port iron ore operation in Western Australia. Your duties will include:

• Pit sampling, grade control, ore mark ups & ore spotting
• Managing stockpiles, EOM reporting reconciliations
• Instil and maintain a positive safety culture across the team
• Ensure database management and data entry is held to a high standard
• Provide technical leadership and communicate geological activities to key stakeholders across the business

 

A little about you: 

To apply for this role you should have:

• Tertiary qualification in Geology or related discipline
• Extensive experience managing geological activities in a major open pit operation
• Ability to provide technical leadership, excellent communicator and the ability to work independently
• Proficiency with Surpac will be looked at favourably
• Current Manual Drivers Licence
• Current Australian working rights
