Salary Range $65,029 - $78,558 pro rata plus 9.5% Super and Other Benefits
The New South Wales Aboriginal Land Council (NSWALC) is seeking a motivated and experienced Support Officer to join Resource and Governance team to contribute to NSWALC by supporting one of our elected Councillors in Broken Hill, New South Wales.
The Support Officer is responsible for:
Support the work of Councillors by drafting correspondence, reports, and newsletters.
Providing a comprehensive range of administrative support services to the Elected Councillor of NSWALC.
Ensuring all office functions are undertaken efficiently and effectively in accordance with NSWALC Policies, Procedures and legislative requirements.
Knowledge and understanding of the issues that affect Aboriginal communities, societies and cultures in NSW.
The capacity to work independently, manage competing work priorities and respond to Councillor requirements within identified deadlines.
Relevant experience in managing/contributing to a small office environment including records experience.
Competency with a range of computer software applications including MS Word, MS Excel and relevant Email Systems.
A basic understanding of accounting principles.
Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing with people at all levels and to deal with confidential information in a professional manner.
Demonstrated commitment to providing high quality customer service.
An awareness of EEO & WHS responsibilities.
