Building Maintenance Supervisor

The West Coast Wilderness Railway is an iconic tourist attraction on the West Coast of Tasmania, and we are currently recruiting for a Building Maintenance Supervisor to be based in Queenstown (Tasmania).

The role will manage the day to day running of all building services and property maintenance at all the sites of the West Coast Wilderness Railway.

The role involves a combination of hands on work and coordination of contractors. You will be required to carry out maintenance and handyman duties so knowledge and experience in a range of disciplines including carpentry, painting, electrical and plumbing is required.

The successful person will have the following:

• Carpentry Trade background
• Previous supervisory experience
• Excellent communication skills written, verbal and computer
• Be a self-starter and highly motivated
• Strong organisational and time management skills
• Current drivers licence
• Ability to lead and motivate a small team

 

The Building Maintenance Supervisor role will involve (but not limited to);

• Maintaining all buildings and surrounds (grounds, carparks, gardens)
• Design and implement a preventative maintenance programme.
• Carry out general repairs and programmed maintenance
• Ensure the building and grounds (including remote stations) present well, are functional and health, safety and security are compliant at all times.
• Supervise, lead, and manage a small team.
• Supervise and coordinate all external service providers
• Responsible for security systems, keys and the propertys assets.
• Organise and maintain the cleanliness of car parks and gardens, including the removal of rubbish, cleaning and tidying of all outside areas, mowing of lawns and cleaning of gutters and drains.
