Cleaner - Part time, temporary contract

The position

  • Part time, temporary opportunity (working 19.5 hours per week)
  • Immediate commencement, temporary contract up to 30 June 2022
  • Working days and hours are fixed Monday 7.5hours, Friday 7.5hours, and Sunday 4.5hours (with the possibility of picking up an extra shift on a Saturday).

We are currently seeking an experienced Cleaner to provide a range of cleaning services in order to maintain a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene at various site locations within the Town of Mosman Park.

You will be working unsupervised to provide a high quality cleaning service. This requires an ability to manage your own time in order to meet deadlines. The role involves manual handling and lifting and may require you to stand for lengthy periods and work in hot or noisy environments.

To be successful you must have a high level of fitness, strong communication and customer service skills and have the ability to work independently.

All applicants must possess:

  • Experience working in a professional cleaning capacity.
  • Experience using commercial or industrial cleaning products and equipment.

Qualifications/experience

  • Previous experience in a commercial cleaning environment.
  • Experience working in a professional cleaning capacity.
  • Experience using commercial or industrial cleaning products and equipment.
  • Current WA driver's licence with access to a reliable motor vehicle.
  • Good time management skills and the ability to work unsupervised
  • Good communication skills
  • Positive can do attitude and strong work ethic.

Desirable:

  • Previous experience in a similar role in local government would be advantageous.
  • Flexibility to cover other shifts
  • Training in the safe use of cleaning chemicals and equipment is an advantage

Work related requirements

The recruitment process requires preferred applicant(s) to obtain a police clearance and undergo a pre-employment medical including fitness assessment, a drug and alcohol assessment.

Eligibility

To be eligible for appointment, it is essential to have Australian citizenship, New Zealand citizenship or Australian permanent residency status.
