Urban Planner

Urban Planning Technology, Fast-Paced, Community-focused.

As a result of our success in early adoption of our technology by customers, we are hiring an Urban Planner to work on test site council applications and working with our software engineer team in developing our artificial intelligence solutions to assist in the Urban Planning process.


  • Compiling and analysing data on economic, legal, political, cultural, demographic, sociological, physical and environmental factors affecting land use
  • Conferring with government authorities, communities, Architects, social scientists, Legal Professionals, and planning, development and environmental specialists
  • Devising and recommending use and development of land, and presenting narrative and graphic plans, programs and designs to groups and individuals
  • Advising governments and organisations on urban and regional planning and resource planning
  • Reviewing and evaluating environmental impact reports
  • Staying up-to-date with changes in building and zoning codes, regulations and other legal issues
  • Speak at public meetings and appear before local/state government to explain planning proposals
  • Working with multi-disciplinary teams to assist in AI/ML activities and software development


  1. A relevant tertiary qualification in Town Planning or related fields;
  2. A minimum of 5 years relevant experience (Preferably in working with Stonnington, Manningham, Moreland or Yarra City Councils)
  3. The successful applicant must have access to a Victorian drivers licence and a reliable vehicle to assist with necessary site visits and external meetings;
  4. A proven ability to work within a team and be able to manage multiple large and often complex projects concurrently;
  5. Be proficient in project management, problem solving and time management to ensure critical deadlines can be met;
  6. The successful applicant will have a track record of leading a team of consultants and to obtain permit approvals an efficient and speedy manner;
  7. Ability to mentor junior staff in the office;
  8. Demonstrated experience working with Councils and other relevant authorities is an essential part of the role
  9. Demonstrated track record of leading and working within success driven, collaborative team environments and;
  10. Excellent communication skills, a proven ability to prepare clear and well written reports; and computer skills will be essential.

Self-building homes and infrastructure is the current goal of Wallace. Manufactured, transportable and configurable construction technologies that self-install will help reduce the cost to develop property.

Wallace will create a streamlined ecosystem to empower and accelerate developers using Wallace technologies, directly reducing the overall cost to construct as well as being involved with the sale process to ensure savings are passed onto customers.
