An exciting opportunity exists for an environmental engineer or hydrologist to join the team at Urbaqua, a not-for-profit enterprise that works to partner with, and support agencies and the land development industry in WA to co-deliver a water and environmentally sensitive future. Urbaqua provides consultancy and project based services in urban water management, environmental and water planning, and policy development. You will have a degree of autonomy and responsibility with your efforts being recognised and highly valued. We are currently looking for a candidate who is dedicated, passionate and enthusiastic, with a specific focus in hydrological modelling. Ideally candidates should have the following skills and experience: Degree in engineering, hydrology or science. 4+ years experience in urban water management and hydrological modelling. Modelling emphasis on flood modelling, drainage design and surface water management (Infoworks and XP desirable). Ability to undertake spatial data analysis and map production using GIS and MapInfo. Ability to problem solve and think critically. Ability to prepare and review technical reports required to support modelling. Knowledge of relevant water management legislation. Demonstrated high standard of report writing. An ability to communicate and collaborate effectively within teams. Provide guidance and support junior staff in their professional development. Ability to manage projects and the technical inputs for a range of water related projects. Developed skills in regulatory liaison and maintaining client relationships viewed favourably. Experience in the consulting industry will be viewed favourably.
