About the Role:
The Supply Chain Manager is a new role that has been developed for someone to be the accountable person managing the companys supplement manufacturing, supply chain and logistics strategy and is based in Townsville. This position will report directly to the Chief Operating Officer and will be required to improve productivity, efficiency, and reduce costs while securing high quality material for the right price at our company. You will play a crucial role to developing and maintaining great relationships with vendors, suppliers, and distributors.
Some of the key responsibilities in this role will include:
Manage and co-ordinate the production and logistics for the Townsville, Toowoomba, Katherine & Adelaide warehouses. Manage the flow of raw material and finished product along the supply chain.Manage and improve the supply chain & production planning with the assistance of your team
Management of QA & QC around all supplement production and following feed safe procedures.
Be able to identify risks and hazards in both safety and quality and rectify problems with documented Corrective Action Measures (CAR/s)
Be responsible for the daily movement of stock and reconciling this on the inventory management system (DEAR) with the help of warehouse trainee
Coordinate budgets, manage purchasing costs and achieve planned targets for manufacturing livestock supplements
Be responsible for ensuring that invoicing is done promptly and accurately for all despatch of supplement and technology orders
Ensure that stock meets quality, quantity, and timing requirements
Coordinate with staff and suppliers to continually improve supply chain process and efficiencies to support the customer experience
Is able to communicate effectively and respectfully with warehouse team, temporary labour, service providers, logistics team, trading team
Essential Skills & Attributes
Tertiary qualifications in business, supply chain management, logistics or related endeavours
Experience within rural merchandise stores and our animal health manufacturing or AG sales.
Minimum of 18 months working in a supply chain related role and preferably experience in the agriculture sector
Experience in using DEAR our inventory management software is highly desirable
Track record in successfully delivering supply chain improvement projects that were high impact and included implementing new systems
Leadership and mentoring skills, (Customer Focus, Performance, Leadership, Integrity, Respect)
Clear, interpersonal communication, negotiation skills and a positive attitude
Good understanding of agricultural logistics relating to regional and remote Australia
